The Engineer-Mine Processing (II,III or Sr) position provides technical support primarily to mine operations groups and responsible for front-end engineering support of capital projects. Serves as an active contributor to Mosaic cross-site and/or cross-functional assignments and initiatives. Frequently assigned to high-profile projects, support assignments, and initiatives.
What will you do?
Provide mine process engineering support to operations group including mine optimization, troubleshooting, efficiency improvement, problem solving, and problem prevention. Responsible for leveraging ideas and assistance including resources across plant sites.
Provide front-end engineering support of capital projects including planning, identifying business objectives, identifying and evaluating viable options, preliminary design development, and preliminary economic and risk mitigation evaluation. Responsible for commissioning and start-up support for assigned projects.
Support current business initiatives. Typical initiatives include specific problem-solving projects or improvement activities involving multiple sites.
Ensure site safety and environmental standards are being followed through safety audits, risk assessments, and housekeeping tours.
Be vigilant of issues and conditions that can affect their fellow workers
Report any issues that can impact the environment or the safety of the employees
What do you need for this role?
- Bachelor's degree in Mining, Civil or Mechanical Engineering required
- 2+ years of related experience. (related experience may consist of engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management)
- 5+ years of related experience. (related experience may consist of engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management)
- 10+ years or more of related experience. (related experience may consist of engineering, industrial project experience, or engineering project management)
Required for ALL Levels:
MS Office products, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project/Primavera (or similar software) experience.
Excellent written and communication skills and ability to interface with all levels of management.
Must demonstrate ability to influence others; requires strong leadership qualities, and team building.
Manage and control project costs and schedule by ensuring that effective project controls are in place and functioning properly.
Providing coordination between design, procurement, and/or construction for integration of technical content and schedule activities.
Preferred for ALL Levels:
SAP/Maximo application experience
Industrial chemical plant or mining facility project management experience
PE, PMI certification
Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors occasionally exposed to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
