The Engineering Coordinator-Mechanical will create or participate in the creation of project scoping documents, engineering specifications, arrangement and detailed drawings, construction management documents and purchasing specifications for engineering projects. Position may manage purchase of material for assigned projects. Position manages or participates in the management and field oversight of construction activities related to engineering projects.
What will you do?
Creates accurate arrangement and detailed fabrication drawings for engineering projects which meet the appropriate standards and codes.
Designs various structures, machine bases, pipe runs, and various other items particular to a design project.
Coordinates design with various engineers if project complexity warrants.
Checks arrangement and detailed drawings prepared by other designers and outside engineering firms for accuracy and compliance with design criteria.
Construction management/field oversight of project work.
Position coordinates vendors, construction contractors, maintenance and production groups to safely and efficiently install/construct assigned projects.
Collects information from all relevant person, groups and sources and prepares scoping documents for engineering projects which optimize all aspects of safety and functionality (I.e. Flow Sheets P&ID’s, design criteria, etc).
Creates or participates in the creation of purchasing specifications.
Quotes, requisitions and expedites material for assigned projects.
Creates or participates in the creation of fabrication/construction management documents such as cost estimates and schedules.
What do you need for this role?
12 years in AutoCad Field Drafting and Surveying with GED required or 5 years in AutoCad Field Drafting and Surveying with Associates Degree in Computer Aided Drafting or Engineering required, 10 years preferred.
Proficient in AutoCAD and other CAD software.
Familiarity with CADWorx preferred but not required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office product.
Must consider numerous alternatives simultaneously in attempting to optimize overall results obtained from designed installations.
Consideration must be given to safety, work environment, operational efficiency, maintenance and reliability.
Must expand an idea to a complete detailed solution using the latest design techniques.
Must make the computations involving trigonometry, geometry and algebra.
Must be able to work either as a lead or support member of project team, depending on scope of job. Must be willing to train or mentor junior-level aides.
