The Accountant – Reporting is responsible for preparing monthly, quarterly and annual external government and industry reporting for Mosaic North American Business Units; preparing various internal tax, management and SEC reporting requirements; and assisting with the preparation of the Balance Sheet fluctuation analysis for various business units. Job duties will include preparing monthly journal entries and maintain supporting schedules for support groups, sponsorships, and other miscellaneous entries related to the operations month-end; leading the analysis of various SOX controls for all Mosaic North American Business Units; and preparing and maintain support of various Balance Sheet reconciliations.
What will you do?
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual external government and industry reporting for Mosaic North American Business Units and various internal tax, management and SEC reporting requirements and assist with the preparation of the balance sheet fluctuation analysis for various business units.
Lead the analysis of various financial close SOX controls for all of Mosaic North American Business Units; this includes preparation and analysis with business partners.
Accounting and analysis for various liability accounts including the preparation of monthly journal entries and supporting schedules for support groups, sponsorships, and various miscellaneous entries.
In addition, monthly preparation and maintenance of support of various liability balance sheet reconciliations.
Perform analysis of various COGS and SG&A accounts.
Work with business partner on the preparation and analysis of supporting documentation for external auditors.
Participate in the coordination of internal and external audit requests.
Other job duties and projects as assigned.
What do you need for this role?
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or Business with emphasis in Accounting or Finance required.
3+ years of technical accounting experience.
Strong working knowledge of financial and accounting concepts and practices.
Strong understanding of GAAP and the ability to apply these principles in practice.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) with advanced Excel skills.
Experience/knowledge of SAP preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work with employees at all levels within the organization.
