The Director Digital Technology Phosphates will be accountable for leading the enabling technology program within Mosaic’s Phosphates Business Unit. This role will provide strategic thought partnership to the Phosphates business leadership team, corporate strategy group and operating sites to identify opportunities, estimate business value, leverage and develop technology strategies to build and implement robust technological capabilities to support execution, growth, automation and enhance reliability.The initial focus will be the Next Gen minerals strategy and expand into the entire business unit and will work in partnership with the IT department to enable the success of implementation and adoption.

What will you do?

  • Provide leadership and oversight of the enabling technology strategy execution. This leadership is comprised of a combination of oversight and directly executing certain initiatives. Work closely and liaise with product owners, product managers, IT leaders and Mosaic Phosphates Minerals operations management to deliver the Next Gen minerals strategy according to plan. Ensure effective management of risk, adherence to committed schedules and partner with business leaders to achieve target objectives and performance metrics. Effectively communicate portfolio and status to BU leaders.

  • Develop and maintain the strategic roadmap for Phosphate business unit. The roadmap will clearly identify resource needs, schedules based of approved initiatives and financial forecasts based on assigned priorities. Collaborate with corporate strategy team, business leadership and IT leadership to align resource commitments.

  • Develop digital operating principles and processes to capture and enable new ideas for the Next Gen strategy, digital and autonomous agenda in the Phosphates business unit. Facilitate the identification of opportunities to support the operational and informational needs, along with execution of the Phosphate Next Gen minerals strategies. For each opportunity, define requirements and estimate respective business value. Develop and lead the Phosphate governance process, which is closely aligned with corporate strategy team, to approve and prioritize opportunities. Confidentially manage sensitive data and proprietary information as required.

  • Influence key stakeholders to ensure successful roll-out of digital products and processes. Educate business colleagues on the enabling technologies, practices, and advocate for use of enabling technologies. Serve as the primary leadership role in managing the change across the business unit.

What do you need for this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Science, Engineering or related required.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in Information Technology with substantial experience in leadership roles.

  • Significant experience in digital strategy development and execution in manufacturing or mining industries.

  • Experience assessing strategic business needs and translating into digital enabled business solutions.

  • IT shared service experience.

  • Prior experience working in a matrix organization.

  • Prior mining experience preferred.

  • Management consulting experience preferred.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • ITOT business understanding

  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills.

  • Understanding of data structures, data hierarchy.

  • Knowledge of operations practices in a variety of industries.
