Are you our next EHS Programs Projects and Training Manager?
The EHS Programs Projects and Training Manager will work with corporate and operational partners, lead the refinement and continuous improvement of EHS Operational Controls through management of Phosphate BU EHS programs. Align BU programs to comply with both regulatory and corporate requirements. Lead cost effective and timely delivery of EHS training to satisfy regulatory, BU and corporate requirements. Facilitate compliance and direct improvements in industrial hygiene. Lead and facilitate internal compliance with DOT and FRA hazardous materials shipping regulations.
What will you do?
Serve as change agent for EHS operational controls and program initiatives.
Lead a team of trainers, subject matter experts and operational partners in the improvement of Mosaic’s Operational Controls and new creation of new EHS programs.
Ensure that operational controls/programs are business/regulatory compliant while seeking input from key stakeholders/end users.
In turn, identify and work with local site program owners to hand-off and “operationalize” Phosphates EHS programs or improved operational controls.
Manage industrial hygiene and DOT/FRA compliance specialist.
Build and lead process to assure solid project management of operational control and program improvements.
Track and communicate project status and delivery timing to stakeholders.
Provide a forum for timely acknowledgement for operational control deficiencies and a methodology for project prioritization.
Lead a competency team to complete gap assessments on Operational Controls and EHS programs.
Ensure that internal audits and 3rd compliance audits findings are reviewed for program opportunities and factored into the project list.
Likewise, review all EHS systemic incident investigation findings against defined EHS system standards, and when warranted, factor into the project plan.
Incorporate LOR changes into overall project plan.
Provide routine updates and key milestones to leadership on current state of EHS operation controls and projects.
Provide recommendations for improvement, sustainability and report out to senior leadership, site leadership and business partners.
Collaborate with key business partners at multiple locations to identify solutions, create best practices, share knowledge, and ensure consistent execution.
What do you need for this role?
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational H&S discipline, Science, or Engineering required.
10 years of experience working in EHS on safety or environmental compliance or 10 years of project leadership experience that includes work involving EHS training implementation or EHS program development/implementation
Experience in developing and leading ISO 14001- and OSHAS 18001-conformant EHS Management Systems into large organizations.
Experience in developing and leading EHS operational controls in a manufacturing environment.
Prior experience leading a team.
Proven track record in driving cultural change in EH&S.
Knowledgeable in environmental regulations at the federal and state level.
Functional EHS knowledge in regulatory requirements, EHS technical aspects (safety, industrial hygiene) risk management, behavior-based safety, training, auditing/program review, regulatory agency enforcement, EHS vendor/consultant management, business knowledge required.
Ability to solve difficult and sensitive problems & issues.
Ability to interface with all levels of management.
Demonstrated ability to influence upward and coach downward; requires strong leadership qualities.
Demonstrated personal integrity, teamwork and communication skills.
