The Mosaic Company Energy Supply Specialist in Lithia, Florida

We are currently seeking an Energy Supply Specialist out of our FishHawk office located in Lithia, Florida.

The purpose of this position is to manage logistical and transactional execution to ensure the supply and delivery of electricity to Mosaic facilities. It includes the analysis, planning and execution of energy procurement from the point of purchase or sale through transportation, transmission, delivery and/or receipt of electricity. Additionally, role will partner with Mosaic and electric utility companies, troubleshooting issues and recommending solutions to minimize unnecessary business impact while ensuring energy regulatory requirements are met.

What will you do?

  • Provide financial and analytical decision support utilizing an electricity pricing model to identify and recommend opportunities contributing to the success of short and long- term energy strategy and cost projections. Develop and deliver models utilizing wide array of modeling software to provide data analytics to support alignment of business decisions. Collaborate with others to categorize and aggregate data to develop and improve metrics, dashboards and reports. Analyze and/or adapt existing data sources for new and changing business requirements, initiatives and processes. Use model to verify utility bills, and to isolate operating or maintenance practices that cause unnecessarily high energy costs.

  • Provide functional support for the Director, Energy Supply. This will include management reporting, budget preparation, data acquisition and analysis of energy consumption and spend, and interaction with business planning groups, such as operations and engineering.

  • Partner with electric utility companies and Mosaic personnel troubleshooting issues such as outage coordination, service interruptions, billing disputes, forecasting energy spend and usage. Identify and recommend solutions to minimize schedule and financial impacts to Mosaic area moves in mining operations, new production facilities, utility company transmission projects. Provide guidance to ensure compliance with energy regulatory requirements.

  • Validate, check and pre-process invoices for payment and confirm payment processing via access to KOFAX and SAP. Provide contract, document and record management support for the energy supply function. Update monthly gas plan forecast and budget.

  • Serve as back-up to Potash counter-part to manage the daily gas control function for Mosaic by receiving consumption estimates from plants, monitoring energy deliveries via pipeline or utility web applications and by providing daily nominations to transporters or supply partners via web or electronic applications. Maintain effective communication with appropriate Mosaic facilities’ personnel to monitor site maintenance planning and adjust daily gas control accordingly.

What do you need for this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Finance, Business or Engineering discipline preferred.

  • 3 years related experience in energy or operations required.

  • 3 years prior experience in financial analysis to include modeling required.

  • HS/GED in lieu of degree with 8 years of same experience.

  • Prior experience in energy preferred.

  • Understanding of utility regulations and tariff preferred.

  • Knowledge of Potash and Phosphate operations or work experience at a production facility preferred.

  • High level of problem solving skills with a focused attention to detail and accuracy.
