The Mosaic Company Project Engineer (III, Senior or Lead) in Lithia, Florida

Are you our next Project Engineer (III, Senior or Lead)?

We are currently seeking a Project Engineer (III, Senior or Lead) for our Capital Projects team, mainly located out of Fishhawk, but serving several Mosaic sites where capital projects are being implemented. The position is responsible for providing/leading engineering services or Capital Project Management to competently and efficiently manage a project from inception through completion. This includes safety, planning, scheduling, design, material and labor procurement, construction coordination, cost control and reporting. Follow Mosaic’s CPM system in the performance of project work. Supervise the activities of contract engineers, designers and constructors as needed to accomplish project goals. Fully engage with applicable Mosaic personnel in all activities. The position provides/leads technical support primarily to plant operations groups and responsible for front-end engineering development of capital projects. Serves as an active contributor to Mosaic cross-site and/or cross-functional assignments and initiatives. Frequently assigned to high-profile projects, support assignments, and initiatives.

What will you do?

  • Identify reliability opportunities, design improvements and oversee implementation in coordination with Operations & Maintenance personnel

  • Develop project scopes and cost estimates, specifications, write capital requests and purchase requisitions needed to execute capital projects

  • Direct and coordinate activities of contract engineering companies, onsite construction contractors, vendors and internal resources to accomplish the project goals. Review safe work procedures and audit ongoing construction activates of contractors on site

  • Develop RFQ packages, coordinate bidding activities and perform technical evaluations and provide recommendations. Prepare reports and/or make presentations regarding items such as project safety performance, scheduling and costs

  • Be vigilant of issues and conditions that can affect their fellow workers. Report any issues that can impact the environment of the safety of the employees

  • Other job related duties as assigned

  • Work with Management to develop and maintain 5 year capital plan. Other job related duties as assigned

What do you need for this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering

Engineer III

  • 5 to 8 years of related professional experience. (Related experience may consist of industrial/chemical manufacturing environment, civil engineering or facilities project engineering).

Engineer Senior

  • 8 to 10 years of related professional experience. (Related experience may consist of industrial/chemical manufacturing environment, civil engineering or facilities project engineering).

Engineer Lead

  • More than 10 years of related professional experience in Industrial/ Chemical manufacturing environment, civil engineering or facilities project engineering.

Required for ALL Levels:

  • MS Office products, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project/Primavera(or similar software) experience

  • Excellent written and communication skills and ability to interface with all levels of management

  • Must demonstrate ability to influence others; requires strong leadership qualities, teamwork and problem solving/decision making qualities

Preferred for ALL Levels:

  • OIS, PI, Maximo, Minitab, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Process Control Systems experience

  • Phosphates, fertilizer, sulfuric acid, manufacturing industry experience

  • Licensed Professional Engineer

  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors occasionally exposed to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.​
