Are you our next Raw Materials Analyst?
The Raw Material Analyst will be responsible for performing key daily business activities of raw material purchasing. The Raw Material analyst will be providing tactical support to the Raw Material group in various aspects of raw material planning, purchasing and commercial undertakings. The Raw Material Analyst will also have responsibility for process and systems improvements to enable efficient raw material planning and purchasing process and tools. Raw Materials, for the purposes of this JAQ, is defined as: ammonia, sulphur, and phosphate rock.
What will you do?
Create and monitor purchasing contracts. PO’s, buy/sells, exchanges, framework orders, and spot purchases for Sulphur and ammonia in accordance to the required audit standards and procedures.
Ensure monthly and quarterly PO’s are created with correct locations, tonnage, and freight rates.
Adjust tonnage on PO’s throughout the month.
Communicate changes in pricing, tonnage, sites, and freight to various departments in Supply Chain including Distribution Services, Rail Ship Receive, Transportation Services, Logistics, and Accounts Payable.
Request and submit subsequent debits and/or credits for price and/or tonnage adjustments.
Update monthly and quarterly pricing.
Request monthly freight pricing.
Request monthly freight rates.
Ensure invoices are paid according to payment terms and currency requirements.
Communicate with appropriate stakeholders to facilitate purchases in a timely manner.
Create end of year exchange PO reconciliations.
Maintain the accuracy of data within procurement system.
Responsible for purchase order discrepancy review and resolution.
Raw Material Reporting, Support and Improvements.
Daily, weekly, Monthly market analysis (Graphics, tables, reporting) as necessary with regards to Supply and Demand for the key markets that Mosaic is involved in (Sulphur, ammonia, phosphate rock).
Supplier relations – ensuring on time payment and communication on PO & Pricing related issues.
Manage urgent ad hoc and routine analytical requests to meet the needs of management.
Provide right analytics, metrics and reporting to enable the raw material teams to mature the information analysis and decision support.
Prepare and present presentations and reports intended for internal and external audiences.
Identify systemic issues and recommend process improvements.
Represent raw materials on cross-functional & project teams.
Support data and process requirements of raw material department.
Collaborate with cross functional teams including IT to lead implementations and improvements of raw material planning and purchasing systems.
Implement and train on new system tools.
Various miscellaneous duties, as directed by Raw Material Managers.
Stretch assignments within the Raw Material team (and supply chain as needed) to learn and backup on Ammonia logistics, UAN procurement, Phosphate rock management, and Sulfuric acid logistics.
Opportunity to complete stretch assignments in other areas of Product Management team (Phosphate, Potash, Demand Planning).
What do you need for this role?
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or Marketing, Supply Chain or Logistics required.
Degree major in Business Administration, Finance or Marketing preferred.
3+ years of Purchasing, Supply Chain or logistics.
Agricultural/Commodity Industry experience preferred.
Working knowledge of purchasing processes including supplier process/systems preferred.
Exposure to Sulphur/Ammonia purchasing processes preferred.
Financial acumen as it related to raw material planning and purchasing is a plus.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Prior experience with ERP or Purchasing or SRM systems.
SAP ECC, Ariba, Business Objects experience preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills.
Ability to create effective partnerships at all levels of the organization.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to lead through influence and network.
Strong action/results orientation with the ability to work with minimal oversight, to be self-motivated and proactive in achieving individual/team objectives.
Demonstrated problem-solving techniques.
Strong process, data and systems orientation.
