The Senior Financial Analyst will lead and participate in the preparation and analysis of financial information to support the Phosphates business unit. Additionally, this role will work directly with Business leaders to create Management Reporting Dashboards that create visibility into financial performance and key business drivers in order to provide tailored business insights to internal customers and management. Other responsibilities will include budgeting, forecasting and reporting; providing financial and analytical decision support; facilitating / supporting other process improvement activities; and preparing various ad hoc analyses.
What will you do?
Financial Planning and Analysis
Function as a key partner to the business with responsibility for analysis and decision support.
Aid in the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and year-to-date actual financial results versus budget, forecast and prior year.
Participate in the preparation and analysis of the monthly forecasting, annual budgeting and annual strategic planning processes.
Challenge the business and provide a forward thinking approach to business solutions which increase profitability and maximize cash flow.
Reporting and Dashboards
Lead the initiative to create automated Management Reporting dashboards tailored to various internal customers to track key performance indicators.
Use previous management reporting, process improvement and automation experience to identify, standardize and streamline all complex aspects of Phosphates FP&A management reporting processes through entire automation cycle.
Manage process automation from initial discovery phase through to completion including but not limited to defining the scope, creating an implementation plan, execution, testing and end-user training.
Lead or participate in the review, analysis and presentation of the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for the Phosphates segment.
Review and analyze the preparation, tracking and monitoring of actual performance versus budget and forecast.
Lead or participate in the preparation of reports summarizing expected results.
Partner with Phosphate Finance Leadership to challenge the business to ensure the budgets/forecasts are set aggressively, yet realistically.
Prepare forecast outlooks as needed based on changing business conditions.
- Lead or participate in other projects and analysis as assigned, including, but not limited to, product line profitability, process improvement in financial planning & analysis, working capital management, and inventory valuation analysis and other ad hoc requests.
What do you need for this role?
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other relevant degree required.
Master’s degree in Accounting or Financing preferred.
5+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis, preferably in an operational analysis and/or a continuous improvement role.
Proven process improvement/automation experience (cost management focused preferred).
Proven financial modeling capabilities.
Strong understanding of financial Management and a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Experience working on multiple projects/cross functional initiatives.
Financial planning and analysis responsibilities and scope, most of which should have been with a large, SEC-reporting public company preferred.
Experience in the fertilizer or other commodity industry is preferred.
3+ years process automation preferred.
Experience in the operational accounting and financial planning and analysis areas of international chemical manufacturing and/or mining company is a definite plus.
CMA or CPA preferred
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) with advanced Excel skills required.
Advanced proficiency with modeling software (e.g. Monte Carlo, Quantrix, etc.).
Experience/knowledge of SAP preferred.
Strong verbal, written and listening skills.
Ability to effectively partner with employees at all levels within the organization.
