Are you our next Sr. Financial Analyst - Commercial?

The Senior Financial Analyst – Commercial will analyze and report sales volumes/ prices and participate in budgeting/forecasting for the Mosaic Commercial Team. This position will analyze and accurately report the sales volumes, prices, product, and customer profitability of phosphate and potash operations; consolidate budgets and forecasts (weekly, monthly, and quarterly), summarize monthly and quarterly financial results; and analyze and challenge the business. In addition, this person will provide decision support to the Commercial team and will have strong interaction with Commercial teams, Commercial Accounting, Phosphates / Potash FP&A, and Corporate FP&A teams

What will you do?

  • Analysis and Reporting: Collaborate with the Financial Toolkits COE to develop BI dashboards for Commercial performance management and create automated analytic tools in WEBI / Power BI to facilitate profitability, volume and pricing analysis by customer, product, and location. Analyze and accurately report Key Drivers/Metrics for the business in part by preparing the weekly and monthly Commercial Reports. Identify financial performance improvement opportunities (i.e. through profitability, volume and pricing analysis), provide decision support to Commercial sales team, and track the progress of the transformation initiatives execution for the commercial business. Responsible for analysis and accurate reporting of sales information to the commercial team to track and monitor sales activity.Follow up on apparent or questionable billing issues.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting:Coordinate and consolidate Commercial business financial budgets and forecasts. Develop budgets and forecasts based on scenario planning and variance analysis. Responsible for weekly/monthly/quarterly forecasting of volumes and prices. Provide input and observations related to continuously improving the forecasting process in the Commercial businesses by partnering with the Commercial Finance Manager and product management / sales groups. Responsible for weekly cash forecasting for the Commercial business. Provide estimated cash receipts to the treasury group and daily invoiced sales tracking

  • Other: Provide analysis and reporting support for Tax, Treasury, Investor Relations, Product Management, Sales and Financial Reporting teams.Provide ad hoc reports as required.Evaluate processes for best practice solutions. Work on special projects and presentations as necessary.Assist in tracking of the incentive metrics for Commercial.

What do you need for this role?

  • Bachelor's Degree required, major in Finance, Accounting or Business with emphasis in Accounting or Finance required

  • Master's in Business Administration preferred

  • Certified Public Accountant or equivalent preferred

  • 5+ years of experience with financial reporting and financial planning and analysis in a large multinational corporation

  • Experience developing automated dashboards and reports using PowerBI and WEBI preferred

  • Experience preparing and analyzing financial models and decision support tools

  • Strong verbal, written and listening communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills
