The IT Business Analyst Sr – Business Analytics will provide oversight and direction and participate in the creation of a robust, sustainable data warehouse and reporting architecture that supports Mosaic’s information requirements and provides for any needed expansion. This person will partner and coordinate with various Mosaic business and technical groups whose support is needed to build or deploy data marts, as well as ensure Mosaic IT standards for technology and development practices are adhered to. In addition, this position is responsible for giving guidance and supervising the day to day project activities of the Mosaic BI team; providing subject matter expertise in the areas of Information Delivery, which includes providing solution alternatives and estimates; gathering and interpreting requirements; and designing, documenting and delivering solutions. In addition to providing level 3 support for deployed initiatives
What will you do?
Provide direction and oversight to and participate in the overall design of the data and visualization of the data warehouse including the ETL scripts, metadata definitions and models, queries, reports and dashboards, work processes, visualization, and maintenance procedures. Supervise day-to day work/project activities of data, ETL and BI architects in combination.
Lead the preparation and/or review of project proposals/business cases pertaining to Business Analytics and alternatives. Collaborate with the Process Solutions teams to better understand requirements and improvement potential in identified opportunities.
Works with the Director – IT, Business Analytics to develop best practices relating to requirements definition, process/solution design, and BI solution implementation (delivery and support).
What do you need for this role?
Associate’s degree required. Degree Major Computer Science preferred.
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Degree Major Computer Science preferred.
5+ years of IT relevant or similar experience in a Business Analyst role, deploying solutions
For those candidates with an associate’s degree, 5+ years of relevant Mosaic experience is required.
Strong knowledge of the business, core processes, and how analytics support those processes and drive decisions
Experienced in the translation of business questions and requirements into reports, views, and SQL/BI query objects
Knowledge of data modeling and metadata concepts and techniques
Well versed in the various information delivery techniques such as standard reporting, dashboards, ad-hoc analysis, business planning and budgeting, and data mining.
Understanding of enterprise data warehouse architecture, reporting design, and metadata management.
Well versed in SAP analytic tool architectures, functions, and features
3+ years of project team leadership with a focus on the delivery of BI solutions including new functionality and solutions preferred
Hands on experience in the development of BOBJ front end tools including dashboards, reports, exploration views, \ etc preferred
Ability to design complex data models in HANA that assimilate data from multiple sources system (SAP and non-SAP) to effectively and efficiently meet business requirements preferred
Designing complex SAP Data Services job flows to extract from/load to SAP systems such as SAP ECC, APO, SCM, HANA as well as non-SAP systems such as Salesforce, Oracle, MS SQL Server, etc preferred
Proven in understanding and implementing software best practices, Proven Estimation models, analyzing system requirements, designing and prototyping solutions, defining testing and support procedures, and implementing practical technical solutions under tight deadlines
Knowledge of MyServiceDesk (Service Now) and experience in incident management and problem management
Technical Certification(s) within BI Software Development Discipline is preferred
Certification in Software Development Lifecycle is preferred
SAP BOBJ experience
SAP ECC experience
Design Studio preferred
SAP BOBJ BI 4.1 IDT (Information Design Tool) toolset preferred
HANA SPS 9 or higher preferred
