The Mosaic Company Manager IT Data Architecture and Modeling – Business Analytics in Riverview, Florida

The Manager, IT Data Architecture and Modeling – Business Analytics is accountable for the design and delivery of solutions that enable Mosaic’s data architecture and modeling requirements and will lead a team of data architects and modelers to collaborate with business partners and customers on key engagements and help them derive business value from data, on premise and in the cloud. Responsibilities will include accountability for the data governance and data management for data assets in our business and customer solutions, data analytics and business intelligence solutions; leveraging leadership experience and data architecture and modeling experiences to directly deliver and, to develop and mature their team to directly deliver, proof-of-concept projects; conducting technical workshops; leading and supporting implementation projects, defining and refining our data management roadmap; and partnering with the business to remove constraints that enable them to leverage data to develop business insights that lead to positive outcomes and positive change.

What will you do?

  • Hands-on management of the design, documentation and delivery of Mosaic’s data governance and data management architecture solutions in accordance with all IT policies, procedures, standards and guideline set forth by the appropriate governing bodies. Provide direction and oversight and be accountable for the overall design of data models needed to support Mosaic visualizations generated from various data warehouse and data repositories, including the ETL scripts, metadata definitions and management, queries, and maintenance procedures. Share real world implementation challenges and recommend new capabilities that would simplify adoption and drive greater value from use of Mosaic Analytic solutions and services.

  • Manage the preparation and review of data architecture needs within project proposals/business cases pertaining to Business Analytics. Define key elements in Mosaic’s data architecture roadmap and provide key insights on practices and initiatives to mature Mosaic’s data architecture roadmap. Deliver technical engagements with business partners and customers, which will include serving a champion for data architecture in opportunity evaluations, understanding customer requirements, creating proposals and creating packaged data and analytics service offerings. Engagements will include leading pilots to validate the various Mosaic Analytic tool usage; designing, planning and executing migrations of existing applications; and developing new applications using Mosaic Analytic solutions,

  • Facilitate collaborative IT and business sessions to develop and maintain standards and best practices relating to requirements definition, process/solution design, and BI solution implementations (delivery and support) of Mosaic’s data architecture. Implement and execute ongoing support and project activities for Mosaic business analytic platforms, data integrations and data architectures. Champion successful business analytic maturity throughout the organization by imaging bold, new possibilities that will enable the Business Analytics to achieve their data architecture roadmap objectives. Other job duties and projects as assigned.

  • Lead a team that will create and refine key data architecture processes and practices needed to maintain and support Mosaic’s analytic needs. Lead, develop and coach employees in order to retain and expand organizational talent through focused attention and effort. Provide timely and constructive feedback on a regular basis to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their work, roles and the business. Manage performance issues when necessary.

What do you need for this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field required

  • Master’s degree in Information Systems or related area

  • 8+ years of experience of IT platform implementation in a highly technical and analytical role, including functional and leadership positions

  • 5+ years hands-on project experience in the design, development and delivery of data management, modeling and architecture solutions

  • 3+ years of team leadership, supervising, or management experience with a focus on agile delivery of data management outcomes

  • Proven ability to think strategically and collaborate with various levels of an organization on business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment.

  • Excellent understanding of other core and enabling processes and technologies

  • Experience with analytic solutions applied to decision making needs of enterprises

  • Demonstrated best practice leadership in BI data modeling development

  • Hands-on experience in Implementation and management of BOBJ, HANA and Data Lake solutions

  • Background in mining or chemical fields is a plus

  • Computer Science or Math background preferred

  • Demonstrated best practice leadership in the fields of database, data warehousing and data management

  • Experience with Self Service Analytic Tools

  • HANA certification is a plus

  • Metadata Management Tools
