The Financial Planning & Analysis Manager will provide direct support to and leadership within the global business planning function, primarily in the design, planning, execution and communication of business long-range and capital expenditure planning processes. In addition, the role will lead work-streams in support of enterprise performance management (EPM). This position will also provide support on budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning as well as analysis related to financial performance and decision support. The role will require significant interface with senior leaders, Business Unit and Support Group management.

What will you do?

  • Co-Lead with the Director, Financial Planning and Analysis, the long-range planning process, which is closely linked to Business Development and Market and Strategic Analysis, integrating business unit and functional planning.

  • Establish and provide direction on key assumptions & coordinate and maintain connections/synergies across all Operations and Functional groups.

  • Provide oversight for long-range planning and cost saving targets. Lead or support strategic planning initiatives and integration with business planning process.

  • Work with Market Analysis & Business Development and the SLT on long term planning routines (e.g. quarterly business reviews).

  • Leadership of the long-range business planning to include the design, planning, execution and communication, including but not limited to global business planning process calendars for Mosaic, significant meetings with Mosaic leadership in preparation of processes / sub-processes and templates, co-ordination of numerous meetings across multiple functions and BUs to facilitate an effective business planning process and scenario planning.

  • Significant change management will be required from senior leaders to mid-level management to execute an evolving business planning process.

  • Support the review, analysis and presentation of strategic planning, annual budget and monthly forecasts.

  • Lead the global capital expenditure planning process, including the monthly meetings of the Capital Expenditure Planning Committee (comprised of the CFO, SVP - Phosphates, SVP – Potash, SVP – Commercial, and SVP – Finance).

  • Lead and/or support work-streams within Mosaic’s enterprise performance management (EPM) initiatives, including KPI development, report rationalization, information governance and improved BI (business intelligence) reporting.

  • Significant change management will be required across Mosaic to drive benefits from EPM.

  • Support acquisition/ integration efforts as needed (percentage of time allocated could fluctuate with business needs).

  • Partner with the Financial Reporting team on developing a Goodwill evaluation model and analysis to support impairment testing.

  • Co-Lead with the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, the preparation, analysis, review, and presentation of Board of Directors.

  • Support update/revision of senior management routines (i.e. leadership and committee meetings) and potentially, in planning, setting and communicating the agenda of SWG meetings; covering all strategy / planning topics.

What do you need for this role?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Economics.

  • MBA in Business, Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred.

  • CPA or CMA preferred.

  • 7+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis or equivalent finance experience

  • Candidates with finance experience at a large, SEC reporting public company are preferred.

  • Process improvement oriented, and cost management focused.

  • Experience working on multiple projects/cross functional initiatives.

  • Strong understanding of financial management and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

  • Proven financial modeling capabilities.

  • Experience with discounted cash flows modeling and valuations.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).

  • Experience/knowledge of SAP of other ERP system & BI (business intelligence) tools preferred.

  • Expert Microsoft Office, including Access preferred.

  • Strong written, verbal and listening communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Ability to effectively work and build partnerships with employees at all levels within the organization, including Mosaic senior leadership team.

  • Ability to adapt to a continually changing business and work environment and manage multiple priorities.
