The Mosaic Company Strategic Planning and Analysis Manager in United States

Are you our next Strategic Planning and Analysis Manager?

We are currently seeking a Strategic Planning and Analysis Manager for our Executive Office located in Tampa, Florida.

The Strategic Planning and Analysis Manager will work with the Vice President, Strategic Planning and Analysis to provide analytical support and complex financial modeling to the Strategy and Growth Team in support of strategy development and execution, including the creation and maintenance of long-term planning models; the development and maintenance of a competitor tracking dashboard and associated toolkits; and the implementation and maintenance of a company-wide process for the prioritization, monitoring and approval of opportunity capital, which will include support for Strategy Working Group (SWG) processes. In addition, this person will also work with the Director, Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis to support 5-year planning processes. This position will involve global travel on short notice.

What will you do?

  • Strategy Modeling: Develop and maintain a company-wide long-range strategy model to support business optimization decision-making and the 5-year planning processes. Perform scenario analysis as required to evaluate strategies under consideration or to evaluate alternate operating models to generate incremental value. Provide support for the 5-year planning processes at the business unit and corporate level.

  • Business Development and Mergers & Acquisitions: Provide support to the Strategy and Growth team with M&A and other initiatives as required, which will include analytical support, financial modeling of potential acquisitions, divestitures, scenario and sensitivity analysis, pro-forma and valuation preparation, determination of assumptions for investment modeling and due diligence. Prepare other ad hoc projects as requested. Work with banking partners to ensure accuracy of significant transaction modeling.

  • Opportunity Capital: Partner with business units to implement and maintain a company-wide process for the prioritization, monitoring and approval of opportunity capital. Review the assumptions and analysis for significant opportunities to ensure accuracy and adherence to company standards. Prepare portfolio level reporting on opportunity capital and support SWG processes as required.

  • Competitor Tracking: Develop and maintain a toolkit for competitor monitoring, which will include the preparation of regular reports, dashboard reporting, historical financial reporting, consensus estimates, Mosaic’s evaluation of synergy potential with Mosaic, and summaries of the competitor’s current valuation.

What do you need for this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Major in Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred

  • MBA preferred

  • CPA, CMA or CFA preferred

  • 7+ years of investment banking, M&A, corporate/business development or related accounting/finance experience

  • Experience developing and managing dynamic DCF models, identifying and valuing synergies, analyzing multiple scenarios, accretion/dilution, pro forma back- and forward-testing, modeling capital projects and financial forecasts, working with multiples, FX, inflation, WACC, and FP&A required

  • Industry experience in FP&A a plus, however, any product-based experience in a similarly scaled entity is acceptable

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel required

  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Database experience preferred

  • Demonstrated analytical, critical, decision-making and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to maintain the “big picture,” while also being able to “drill down” into the detailed analysis

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong presentation and listening skills

  • Ability to work effectively and build relationships across the organization with all levels of employees

  • Ability to partner with all areas within the organization and challenge the business

  • Ability to adapt to a continually changing business and work environment, managing multiple priorities

  • Adept at meeting established deadlines (i.e., having a strong sense of urgency)

  • Orientation towards process improvement

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong business acumen

  • Availability to travel globally on short notice, with any required visa and/or passport documentation needed
